In the UFC’s most current ad campaign they team up with the marine corps. There are a variety of internet commercials on their website and MMA websites. They commercials have fighters who talk about the marines and how appreciative they are of them. The marines also talk about how great of athletes the UFC fighters are.

The UFC has also done tv shows dedicated to branches of the armed forces. They have sent current fighters to air bases to teach the men and women there some basic MMA.

There ads are targeted to their main audience, males between the ages of 18-35. They have began to gain a secondary audience in the armed forces. Our armed forces are trained in lots of the same martial arts as the fighters are, so they have a passion and respect for what they do. The UFC has even held events at bases for the troops.

These ad’s are definitely mutually beneficial to both organizations. Reminds people that we have people who protect us everyday, and also gives a good image of the UFC. The brand is viewed as a company who supports our troops, and is a legitimate sport that has gained the approval of the marines and armed forces.

They seem to have a good partnership that benefits them both, and gets people thinking a certain way about the UFC brand.

The brand I have chosen to follow over the semester is The Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC is a mixed martial arts promotion company. NFL is to football as the UFC is to MMA. For those who don’t know what MMA is: it is a sport that combines boxing, judo, jujitsu, wrestling, ta-kwon-do, karate, and muay thai into one. It a combat sport with two athletes who fight until one gets knock out, technically knocked out, or submits due to tapping. They have a near monopoly on the world of MMA buying up their competitors left and right. Before I begin to talk about UFC and why I chose it , I would like to give you a brief history of how far It has come.

The UFC is 15 years old, in that short time has become the largest paid per view provider in the world. Not bad for a company that had its product called “human cockfighting” by Senator John McCain, in the 90s. UFC began an overhaul with new ownership, management and public relations campaign. Instead of selling the product as a sideshow spectacle, the UFC started marketing and advertising itself as a legitimate sport.

I chose this company because I not only have a passion for the sport itself, but also aspire to work for the company someday. I have experience in boxing, judo, and brazilian jujitsu. This shows where my passion for the sport comes from. I also plan to apply for an internship there this summer. Though I am a division I baseball player, MMA is not only my favorite sport, but also my favorite sport to watch. I look forward to discussing their advertising patterns/techniques over the semester.

This project was the most time consuming so far, but also the most enjoyable at the end. We did a spy/mobster theme, and used two of our teammates as actors. Our song resembles the pink panther theme song. We had a lot of fun making this music video……..enjoy.

this was the most difficult project to date. I had lots of o trouble with final cut and didnt feel confident with it. I had trouble rendering files, and making a narritive. Making a story was really difficult for me, and im not happy with my final product.
